Position Title: Director Clinical Nursing - ICU / Educator RN

The Director of Clinical Nursing for the Intensive Care Unit serves in a dual role additionally as the assigned Nursing Educator for the facility. Establishes and enforces policies, procedures, standards and objectives. Works collaboratively with Mountain Vista Medical Center RN Educators also. Directs and supervises staff as well as workflow. Position has budgetary and fiscal accountability. Responsible 24 hours a day for the ongoing effective operation of the assigned Nursing department by exerting a leadership role which supports the hospital’s mission, vision, goals and objectives, while focusing on the patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and the community as customers. Ongoing accountability for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination and integration of the department services and standards of care into the hospital’s primary function. Position is responsible for approving timekeeping, employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders, department strategic planning, annual nursing skills competency validation coordination, and annual facility education plan.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BSN)
  • A minimum of two years' experience in critical care and direct clinical patient care.
  • Advanced experience and proficiency in education/precepting.
  • Exceptional knowledge of adult education, learning theory, and critical care.
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in general and critical care nursing practice.
  • Superb analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona
  • BLS Certified

Preferences:

  • Master's Degree (MSN)
  • 5+ years of experience
