Position Title: Groundskeeper/General Maintenance
Job Summary:
Performs a wide variety of landscaping tasks using power equipment and hand tools to maintain the facility’s grounds. Performs facility general maintenance duties and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment. Provides a safe environment; demonstrates alertness to areas needing attention in avoiding unsafe conditions. Inspects, calibrates, adjusts, lubricates, and repairs or replaces equipment components. Performs minor construction, remodeling of hospital areas, and repositioning furniture and equipment. Assists hospital employees, visitors, and patients with miscellaneous services pertaining to security; i.e., lost and found, vehicle assistance, help with combative patients, and other hospital emergencies. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
- BLS and ACLS required upon hire
- High School/GED Diploma
- Multiple mechanical repair abilities
- Able to stand and walk the majority of shift hours
- Able to push/pull, stoop/crouch/crawl and reach as needed
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, 100+ pounds with team lift
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferences:
- Vocational or Trade School background
- Previous experience in grounds keeping or the ability to learn and demonstrate competency after successful completion of a training program.
