Job Description

Prepares patients for MRI procedures to ensure optimum scan and provide a safe environment.  Performs MRI procedures, as ordered by the physician, to ensure production of quality images for accurate diagnosis in accordance with all applicable safety standards.  Completes all appropriate documents and hospital records regarding MRI procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.  Performs other clerical functions as appropriate.

Qualifications

A.     Minimum Education:    Has verification of successful graduation from an AMA accredited radiology program.

 

B.     Minimum Experience: Ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of cross-sectional human anatomy, positions, aligning, and instructing patients; willing to take calls for after-hours work and work flexible shifts.

 

C.    Required Certification/Registration: Maintains certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (AART); maintains certification with the Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE); and maintains CPR certification.
