RN Transfer Center 2/12s 6am - 6p
Provides direct and indirect use of critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities in coordinating patient transfers. Provides assistance to nursing care units for nursing decisions, staffing, patient care, and educational needs. Additionally functions applicable when acting as Charge Nurse: To make patient care assignments based on the skill, experience, and temperament of other nursing personnel and on the acuity of the patients, ensuring patient, staff safety, assist in the evaluation of performance and skills of Agency/Temporary staff as well as permanent critical care staff. To responsibly direct and precept these staff members as needed/assigned in all aspects of critical care management. To participate in quality and process improvement in the department during all phases from planning to implementing , and sustaining efforts, including taking corrective action if other employees fail to carry out delegated duties.
Able to systematically process patient acuity and expert level of clinical decision making.
Minimum Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed or eligible for license in the State of Arizona, BSN, broad clinical experience; critical care preferred
Minimum Experience: Must have at least five years previous experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital with two years of previous experience in a critical care capacity preferred.
Must have excellent customer service skills
Must have current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
