Ostomy Care RN
Provides direct and indirect patient care. Communicates with physicians/manager/charge nurse/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Participates in quality and process improvement in the department during all phases from planning to implementing and sustaining efforts.
Additional functions applicable when performing In-patient duties: Rounds on in-patients daily with wound/ostomy needs. Assists unit RNs with wound care/dressing changes/ostomy care and instructs them on proper techniques. Makes recommendations to physicians for wound/ostomy care. Prepares and delivers in-services related to wound/ostomy/skin care for in-patient staff. Assists staff with proper selection of specialty beds for patients with skin/wound issues.
BLS required, ACLS preferred.
Arizona RN license required, or able to obtain.
WOCN Training Completion.
One year prior Wound Care RN experience preferred.
