Certified Nurse Assistant St. Luke’s Medical Center/Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital Position Summary: Provides direct and indirect basic nursing care within the Certified Nursing Assistant's scope of practice under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse Relationships: Likely interaction with Patients, patient's families, nurses, physicians, other clinical and non-clinical staff, and visitors Committee and meeting participation may include Unit Staff Meetings; other participation as appropriate and required Star Standards Demonstrates support of the Medical Center's mission, values and vision in all actions and interactions with employees, patients, medical staff, guests, and visitors Service Works to make a positive impression on patients and their guests, other employees, medical staff, and visitors Protects the privacy and dignity of our patients Shows concern by anticipating patient needs and adapting to their preferences Team work well with co-workers & other employees as a team member Contributes to the team concept and maintains positive working relationships Recognizes the dignity of each person and shows respect for one another Works to resolve concerns and complaints promptly and effectively Accountability / Attitude Demonstrates kindness through words and actions Maintains a safe and clean hospital environment Maintains a clean, neat and professional appearance Embraces the change process as an effective tool for personal, professional and organizational growth Responsiveness Demonstrates responsiveness to the needs of our patients and their guests, other employees, medical staff, and visitors Incorporates rounding into daily practice, as assigned Informs patients and their guests, other employees, medical staff, and visitors about waits, delays and other possible inconveniences Communicates in a caring and appropriate way Nursing Care Delivery Provides basic nursing care to patients within the Certified Nursing Assistant's scope of practice including actions that meet their psychosocial, age specific and physical needs Demonstrates knowledge of basic disease entities Assists and provides for all activities of daily living Completes documentation, which reflects current nursing standards, policies and procedures Assists physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills within the CNA scope of practice Manages and operates unit equipment safely and correctly Assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse Demonstrates knowledge of current patient safety goals and St. Luke’s Medical Center/Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital policies and procedures supporting standards of care Communications Demonstrates positive oral and written communication skills Communicates, in a timely manner, to supervising nurse any patient's needs, concerns, questions, data collection information or observed changes in patient's status and responses Communicates appropriately with patients, their guests, and visitors Communicates and collaborates with other health care team members to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patient's needs and ensure a positive environment Interacts with a high level of professionalism, respect and dignity Maintains patient confidentiality Personal Development and Leadership Participates in the clinical development of self and others by assuming responsibility and accountability for assigned unit activities Demonstrates support for organizational goals for improving patient, staff, and physician satisfaction. Participates in the department's continuous quality improvement activities.
Required Licensed CNA in the State of Arizona BCLS Certification required.
