OR RN -- Position Summary:

- Formulates and revises Perioperative Care plan of care as indicated by patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness
- Involves patient and patient's family when appropriate
- Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning opportunities and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate
- Demonstrates the use of critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities in coordinating and supervising patient care
- Completes documentation which reflects current nursing standards, and which supports policies and procedures
- Manages and operates unit equipment safely and correctly
- Demonstrates knowledge of current patient safety goals and policies
- Applies knowledge of infection control policies and procedures supporting standards of care
- Communicates appropriately with patients, physicians, co-workers, staff and patient families
- Interacts with a high level of professionalism, respect and dignity
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Participates in the clinical development of self and others to provide for personal growth, unit clinical competency and unit retention
- Participates in the department's continuous quality improvement activities
- Committee and meeting participation: Unit staff meetings; other participation as appropriate and required
- Position patients for procedures
- Understanding of supplies needed for procedures
- Understanding in performing Time-outs
- Ability to work with pre-op, PACU, and other interdisciplinary teams as needed
- Works directly with Surgeons and Anesthesia and assists as needed
Position Requirements
- ADN in Nursing
- Licensed RN in the State of Arizona or Compact RN License
- BLS / ACLS / PALS as needed as required by Department
- Ability to work effectively with computer based charting and other clinical software programs
- Adaptability to change, organizational skills
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Minimum of 2 Years of OR Nursing Experience or previous Surgical tech experience
Preferred Requirements
- 3-5 years of recent OR nursing Experience or Surgical Tech experience
- CNOR Certification
- Bachelor’s in Nursing or relevant
